Prohibited and Restricted Items

Learn what you can and cannot ship, and under which conditions certain items are allowed.

For safety, legal, and carrier-compliance reasons, some items cannot be transported through PrimeFlow Logistics services. Because we operate as a freight forwarder and work with third-party carriers, the final acceptance of any shipment depends on the selected carrier, the route, the origin and destination countries, and the applicable customs and transport regulations.

The lists below are illustrative and not exhaustive. The fact that an item is not listed does not mean it will be accepted. If you are unsure about your goods, please contact us before booking.

Items we do not transport

These items are not accepted under any conditions:

  • Weapons, firearms, weapon parts, and ammunition
  • Explosives, fireworks, and pyrotechnics
  • Narcotics and controlled substances
  • Counterfeit, stolen, or otherwise illegal goods
  • Goods prohibited by the laws of the origin, transit, or destination country
  • Cash, banknotes, coins, and cash equivalents
  • Negotiable documents, vouchers, bonds, cheques, lottery and gambling items
  • Human remains and body parts
  • Live animals
  • Plants, seeds, and protected wildlife products (CITES)
  • Tobacco products (cigarettes, loose tobacco, and related products)
  • E-cigarettes, vaping devices, and related liquids or gels
  • Alcohol, including wine, beer, and spirits
  • Antiques
  • Perishable food
  • Frozen, chilled, refrigerated, or temperature-controlled food or goods
  • Food or beverages requiring refrigeration or environmental control
  • Wet ice
  • Parcels that are wet, leaking, damaged, or emit an odour
  • Hazardous waste, radioactive materials, and toxic substances
  • Standalone lithium batteries and cells (UN3480)

Items accepted only with written carrier confirmation

These items may be considered, but only if the selected carrier confirms acceptance in writing before booking, and all packaging, documentation, and legal requirements are met:

  • Liquids, gels, oils, creams, perfumes, and similar items
  • Chemicals, paints, solvents, and cleaning products
  • Pressurised aerosols and gases
  • Other flammable, corrosive, toxic, acidic, or irritant substances
  • Food only if dry, sealed, non-perishable, and not requiring refrigeration or temperature control
  • Lithium batteries installed in equipment (UN3481), within IATA Section II / ADR limits
  • Goods requiring special permits, licences, customs approvals, or special handling
  • High-value fragile items such as jewellery, precious metals, art, glass, porcelain, screens, and electronics

Food and temperature-controlled goods

We do not provide refrigerated, chilled, or temperature-controlled transport. Perishable food, frozen or refrigerated goods, fresh produce, and any food or beverage that requires environmental control are not accepted. Dry, sealed, non-perishable food may be considered if the carrier and destination-country rules allow it.

Liquids, gels, and similar items

Liquids, gels, oils, creams, and perfumes are not accepted by default. They may only be transported when the carrier confirms acceptance in writing, the contents are non-hazardous, and the goods are packed in leak-proof primary and secondary packaging. Safety data sheets (SDS) may be requested.

Dangerous goods and chemicals

Chemicals, paints, solvents, cleaning products, pressurised aerosols, gases, and other flammable, corrosive, toxic, acidic, or irritant substances are not part of our standard service. They may only be considered in exceptional cases, with prior written carrier confirmation, full hazardous-goods documentation, and compliant packaging.

Lithium batteries

Standalone lithium cells and packs (UN3480) are not accepted. Batteries installed in equipment (UN3481) may be accepted within IATA Section II / ADR limits — for example, watt-hour and quantity caps, protected terminals, and the device powered off. Written carrier confirmation is required.

Alcohol and tobacco

Alcohol (including wine, beer, and spirits), tobacco products, e-cigarettes, vaping devices, and related liquids or gels are not accepted under our services.

High-value and fragile items

Jewellery, precious metals, art, glass, porcelain, screens, and electronics may be considered only when the carrier confirms acceptance in writing and packaging is suitable for the value and fragility of the goods. Strong outer cartons, internal cushioning, and no empty space are required. Claims may be limited if packaging is inadequate. Loose precious or semi-precious stones, gold bullion, and fur are not accepted.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives

Firearms, weapon parts, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and pyrotechnics are not accepted.

Antiques

Antiques are not accepted under our services due to valuation, export control, and handling constraints.

Your responsibility as a customer

Customers are responsible for declaring the full contents of every shipment before booking. If a shipment contains undeclared restricted or prohibited items, the carrier may refuse, delay, return, dispose of, or destroy the goods at the customer's cost. Any additional charges — including return fees, storage fees, cleaning fees, disposal fees, customs penalties, or carrier surcharges — may be passed on to the customer.

PrimeFlow Logistics is not liable for any loss, damage, fine, delay, or additional cost arising from undeclared, misdeclared, or prohibited goods. Customs and carriers may inspect any shipment at any point during transit.

If you have any doubt about whether your goods can be transported, please contact PrimeFlow Logistics before booking. We will confirm with the carrier in writing whenever required, so you have certainty before your shipment is collected.

By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have reviewed these restrictions, that your shipment complies with all applicable laws and carrier rules, and that any item requiring written carrier confirmation has been approved in advance. Non-compliant shipments may be refused, cancelled, returned, or disposed of.
